Council Moves Forward with Transition to District-Based Elections

The City Council will conduct a series of public hearings to provide direction regarding the composition of districts and "communities of interest," and solicit input from stakehoolders. The first public hearing will take place in conjuction with the City Council's regular meeting on October 23, 2019 at 7 p.m.

The city will also host several community input workshops for stakeholders to attend and learn about districting and provide input at various stages of the overall process. Wokrshops are tenatively scheduled through October and early November at locations throughout the city; details including times, locations and additional dates will be avaialble on the city's website at https://www.westminster-ca.gov/our_city/depts/cityclerk/election/district_based_elections.asp and social media. The first community workshop will be held October 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Miriam Warne Community Building, 14491 Beach Blvd., Westminster.
