Orange County's basin remains at a critically low level. The time to act is now.


After five years of worsening drought conditions,  the Governor of California has implemented mandatory saving measures to ensure residents have drinking water. The City of Westminster is committed to doing our part. Below are resources and additional information to help you save water.

IMPORTANT EMERGENCY DROUGHT RESTRICTIONS

The State has mandated the City of Westminster to reduce water use. To comply with mandatory restrictions and save taxpayer dollars, the Westminster City Council has declared a Level 2 Water Supply Shortage, outlined in Ordinance No. 2536, with new water restrictions: 
  • Outdoor watering:
    • Watering is restricted to THREE days a week April - October:
      • Even Number Street Addresses: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
      • Odd Number Street Addresses: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday
    • Watering is restricted to ONE day a week November - March:

      • Even Number Street Addresses: Monday
      • Odd Number Street Addresses: Tuesday
    • No outdoor watering between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 PM
    • No excessive run-off
    • Limited to 15 minutes per irrigation system 
  • Decorative water features (i.e. fountains) must use recirculating water
  • Must use shut-off nozzle when washing a car
  • Leaks must be repaired within 72 hours
  • No filling or re-filling ornamental lakes/ponds
  • No watering within 48 hours of a measurable rain event
